Travel Carry-On 2016

Continuing with my tiny travel series, this is what I took with me on my carry-on for the plane. The plane ride offered wifi but I fell asleep immediately on the way there so I didn't use it, and for some reason as I get older I get motion sickness much more easily. Not to mention the crushing anxiety I get when boarding and being on a plane ^^; So I don't take very much with me besides my essentials. My iPod has a bunch of audiobooks, podcasts and music that I don't touch for a week leading up to my travels so I can fully enjoy it. I keep some pens and my planner as well as my sketch notebook with me at all times, my small makeup case that I showed you earlier, a case that holds my Nintendo 3DSXL and a few games, my Marc by Marc Jacobs wallet, some pills for the plane, my Zoella hand lotion which smells incredible, a few green tea mints, my sunglasses, my phone, my rosary that I take with me on every single trip I take, and my headphones that I keep in my Japanese tissue holder I got with my Hobonichi. This thing is amazing at keeping my headphones untangled and I can always find them in my bag! I took pretty much everything here with me in a smaller bag when we got to our actual destination besides my laptop and iPad Pro. My laptop is my pride and joy right now <3 I had been debating for a few months exactly which decal I wanted for my laptop and I finally decided to get one of my absolute favorite prints from one of my favorite artists, Rose Besch. It is protected by a transparent case and it's been holding up really well! My iPad Pro, though extremely useful, has been very heavy for me T-T We're an Apple family so we have six of the same charger so I decorated mine with some floral washi tape so I know which one to grab in a hurry.

Well I hope you enjoyed my travel posts! I haven't really travelled much since my Spain days and I honestly don't have much interest to. I don't take flying on a plane very well and I have some awful motion sickness that seems to be getting worse ;0; I love driving places so I like being nearby, and I love nesting so I don't mind staying home at all. Josh shares my desire to have peaceful days at home so I'm thankful for him <3

Travel Beauty 2016

I've been MIA for the past couple of weeks because I've been on Spring Break! I didn't do a whole lot of relaxing. I was pretty busy for both weeks which is why I haven't been updating, but I have been trying to prepare some posts! For the first week I was able to travel to Texas for the first time with my family and we had a really wonderful time. I wanted to highlight what I brought on my trip with me since this was the longest flight I've had traveling domestically since I returned from Spain.

First my beauty staples! I brought these in my biggest cosmetics bag and kept it in a checked bag so I didn't have to worry about amount constraints. Target really is amazing with all the great travel sized products they have! I hate lugging full sized products with me to places and these tiny alternatives were great for space. I got a mini shaving cream and a single razor, a Pronamel toothpaste, a toothbrush, a Ponds Cream, and a Nivea body lotion from Target. I have a trial sized pot of the Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb from Sephora, some Moroccan oil from Harmon's, and some Beauty Wipes from the Face Shop that kept my skin feeling fresh and like it never left home. I brought some masks to bring some moisture back to my face after the plane ride but Houston was so humid when we got there that I didn't need them! I wanted to do them with my brothers but I guess I have to save it for some other time.

So those were my skincare essentials, and this is for makeup! I didn't get any trial sized versions for this trip so I just brought my full sized versions. I brought the four makeup brushes I use the most, my Nars Creamy Concealer, Eyeshadow Primer, True Match concealer for some less heavy coverage for under my eyes, MAC Mineralize Skin Finish, a MAC highlighter that I use as my blush, my FRESH Sugar Rose Lip Treatment, my Pumped Up Mascara, my Smashbox Full Exposure travel palette, two shades of eyeliner, my Burt's Bees lipstick, a Bobbi Brown Coral lipstick,  a Tory Burch perfume and my eyelash curler. I kept these at the hotel and only switched out my lipstick in the morning. I used everything here in the mornings except for the eyeliners!

These are my little essentials I took with me in my purse when we were exploring around. We did a lot of walking and a whole lot of driving! I always brought my Nars Creamy Concealer, Tarte lip balm, Tory Burch perfume, my daily shade of lipstick, a tiny brush and my MAC Mineralize Skin Finish, and my CaudaliΓ© Beauty Elixer for refreshing purposes. I like to carry as little as I can with me because I've felt the beauty of needing a small bag and it's hard to go back to bigger ones! As far as beauty goes, I think I did a pretty good job~ I didn't feel like I was missing anything or needed anything more than I brought with me.

February Favorites 2016

1. Kimoji - Uh when this was released my friend and I had so so much fun with it. I love how crazy the graphics are with Kimoji and I'm not ashamed to say that I love it! Girl can get it.
2. Patreon - I started supporting my first artist on Patreon this month! I've never been able to do it before but I'm so happy and proud to be able to contribute to Fran's Patreon. She always has something fun that she posts and when she updates it makes my day.
3. Hobonichi Techo Cousin - I mean, I don't know if people can tell how much I love my Hobonichi by how much I talk it up but I really do. Writing in it has made me happier and feel more active in reaching my journaling habits. I don't write in it every day but I take notes on my day so I can have catch-up days where I end up writing a lot in it.
4.  Plantronics BackBeat Fit Bluetooth Headphones in green - This month I started being more active and running again. I used to run almost every day but I've fallen out of the habit and want to start living a more healthy and active lifestyle, so I invested in my first pair of bluetooth headphones. I can't properly explain the huge difference it has made for my workouts. I never thought cutting the wire would be such a perfect decision for me but it really has been! I love wearing these on walks and on runs~ I'm also really happy I decided to go with black and green instead of the black and light blue. The other ones looked more feminine but I love the combination of black and lime green!
5. Kate Spade Rosegold Wellesley Small Rachelle in Rosegold - Josh got me this stunning purse for Christmas <3 Because I also got Lady it was hard to decide which of these purses I should take out since they're both so stunning. I have loved using this purse in February, it adds a sparkle to my usually casual outfits!
6. Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm in Cherry Me - This has always been my go-to lip balm. It gives me the perfect tint and moisturizes my lips to perfection. I carry it with me in tiny purses when I go out with friends or my regular sized bag when running errands. I'm always trying to find another lip balm that will give me the same amount of tint and hydration that this gives my lips but I have yet to find one!
7. Smashbox Full Exposure Palette - I try to switch out my palettes every month and challenge myself to use only the colors in that palette for that month and this month it was the Full Exposure Palette. It has the perfect shade for my eyebrows and the best neutral shades that give me a hint of glamour for work. I do tend to continue to come back to this palette.
8. Fresh Rose Floral Toner - This is the finishing touch to my beauty routine every day. I love how it smells and how refreshing it is in the morning. I spray a little bit in my hair to give it a little extra something~
9. Buzzfeed's Internet Explorer Podcast - Ok so this podcast saves my boring commute every time I listen to it. I love the hosts and the topics they talk about! I literally start laughing randomly in the middle of the day when I remember something I heard on this podcast in the morning. I got Josh to listen to a few episodes and he instantly got hooked. If you need something fun and a little mature to listen to, I can't recommend this podcast enough!
10. Superstore - We gave this show a try based upon a recommendation from my friend and ahhhhh it is so addicting and wonderful!!! The first season isn't very long and the episodes aren't either, you could probably get through it all in one night! NBC has the whole first season available right now on their website, go watch! I drew my favorite character from the show, Dina~
11. Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling - I had the pleasure of listening to Mindy's new book this month and I fell in love with her all over again. She is funny, witty and so inspiring. Josh has fallen in love with the book, too, he asked me to buy the first one so we could listen together! It's not a long listen but it is so great.
12. Dunkin Donuts Cupid's Choice Donuts - FUN FACT! These donuts became available in 2010, the year Josh and I started dating! I used to get them on my way to class and would look forward to our JCA meetings at night. I've always associated the taste of these donuts with seeing Josh again after a full week of not seeing him before we were dating~ They come out in February and they are just so delicious and festive ;0; They're basically a strawberry frosted boston cream, you should get them when they come out again next February~
13. School Fleece - Ok so this one isn't exactly highlighted in the picture but I am wearing it like I did every single day this past month after I came home from work. I've just been so cold at home lately and when I put my fleece on I feel like I could sleep comfortably for days!

Sephora Haul with Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea

I haven't really done a beauty haul in a while on here! The other day I ran out of my staple Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer so I finally had an excuse to go shopping on Sephora again~ I had to use my MAC concealer while waiting for my Nars one to be shipped and I gotta say I kinda fell in love with it again? So I'll probably going back and forth with them! I like going to the store to see what new items Sephora has in stock and the quality of a product I've been eyeing, but I honestly don't really like buying from the store anymore. If you order online you get 3 free samples and can see a whole bunch of other deals that you wouldn't be able to if you just shopped in the store. I was able to snag some perfume samples, a deluxe rollerball of Marc Jacobs' Daisy Dream and a 500 point reward from L'Occitane Province!

But really, my favorite find was definitely Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea. I was able to maintain my VIB Rouge status for this year (a point of pride and shame all at once) and I didn't realize that I get access to exclusive products before it hits the stores or for the public online! I saw the preview for this line and I was so excited for it, I couldn't pass up this opportunity. I decided to pick up the Eyeshadow Palette, the Quench and Drench Lip Set and the Quench Lip Rescue in Rose.

The eyeshadow palette has a different consistency than other palette's in Tarte's collections. I've heard a lot of good things about Tarte and actually really love their lipsticks because of the minty and tingly feeling they have on my lips. This is my first purchase of any other kind of item from them and I love it. They colors have a creamy consistency and go on the lids like buttah. They're highly pigmented and the colors are great for a neutral eye. The packaging doesn't feel cheap and has beautiful colors. It feels and looks luxurious and I'm looking forward to having it in my purse for the Spring and Summer!

Ok, as for the lipsticks, they are absolutely amazing. The Quench Lip Rescue has the perfect amount of tint and is super hydrating. This duo is almost like a deluxe sample of the products. The Lip Splash Lipstick is a lovely shade that's perfect for work or school giving you a perfect shade that's subtle enough to give you that warm and welcoming glow. Pair it with the nude Quench Lip Rescue and your lips will not just look beautiful but will be hydrated all day long. I got the full size of the Quench Lip Rescue in Rose and I think I'm going to have to get all of them. This is an example of needing to go to the store to check which shades are good for me. I struck lucky with these but it's always a gamble when you don't see it swatched on your skin tone!

Ok so I was also really excited about this. Ever since it was announced that this was a 500 point reward I was looking for an excuse to place an order at Sephora. I've been having a weird I want this/I don't want this relationship with L'Occitane hand creams. I'm not the biggest fan of the smell but I love how it makes my hands feel ;-; I used to hate it but now my hands thirst for it. This one comes with a sample of it which I'm sure I will go through this week and buy the full version of by the weekend.

The pack came in a cute box and came with deluxe samples of the hand cream, cleansing oil, shower oil, skin oil and a really cute makeup bag.

To be honest I'm not sure if I'm going to warm up to these products but I am excited to try them out. I have really sensitive skin and it either really reacts well to certain beauty products or breaks and freaks out. I don't do a lot of cleansing or use oils or anything like that because my skin has always been fine just using water to wash it in the morning and night time. I do use face masks and a serum or two about once or twice a month but nothing major, thankfully. My mom passed on some wonderful genes. I'll do a post on my skin routine and exactly what I do one of these days.

So all in all I recommend everything in this post. I love everything from the Rainforest of the Sea collection that I got and can't wait to get more in stores when it comes out! These are VIB Rouge exclusives at the moment so if you are one then I suggest you grab something from the collection! It will be available online starting February 29th and in stores March 14th.

What's In My Bag (Summer Work Edition)

I LOVE THESE KINDS OF POSTS which is why I also love making them. I've had work on an off all summer and because of that I don't take a whole lot of what I usually take to work. I have a lighter amount to take around!

Though I don't have much to take around, I love love LOVE having a big bag! Josh was the sweetest and surprised me with this beautiful bag as a "Congratulations for the new job!" gift!!! It is the PERFECT big leather bag and has comfy straps and finding a bag like this is so hard for me because I'm tall and my arms don't like to agree with most tote bag sizes ;-; It is leather with gold hardware and even has little feet!

My bag is pretty big and doesn't has one tiny pocket where I keep my phone and iPod. I am keeping a lot of my tinier things in bags inside of my bag! Here I have my laptop, my Daily Planner, my Moleskine notebook, my iPod Touch and my pencil case. I love my page markers which are dachshunds! One of them even looks like Hershel! THAT'S EXCITING. My Daily Planner has all my appointments and things like grocery lists, events, notes and dinner items. My Moleskine is mostly for blogging and writing.

I've had this pencil case for years! I love how tiny and cute it is and usually use it to store pens that I always use. I love pens with a more fine point for writing and brush tips for drawing and sketching.

My Louis Vuitton wallet *swoon* <3 I'm still very delicate with it and treat it like a delicate flower. The other day I found these Sailor Moon charms at Barnes and Noble and I just couldn't resist. I never got over the fact that it's tougher to add charms to your phone, but I thought this would be a cute way of personalizing my wallet! I thought I would get weird looks but I've gotten nothing but compliments on it!

Ok so getting into the tinier bags! This is my makeup bag. I've had it for two years and I absolutely love it. I have so many different types of makeup bags and I can't seem to budge from this one and one other one Josh got me. This one is my tiniest one. I have to admit that I don't really use my makeup at work over the summer, but I always need these just in case. That ONE day I don't bring this I'm going to need it. I have a tinted lip balm from Etude House, a Nars lipstick in a nude, a perfume, Moroccan oil for my hair if it gets too frizzy or dry, hand sanitizer, my natural Nars lipstick, Mac Studio powder, a powder brush, Nars concealer and a tiny deodorant (JUST IN CASE BECAUSE IT'S SO HOT.) I haven't used any of these yet but you know. Just in case. It's sad too because I wish I could just leave it in the car but if I did that everything would melt and explode.

I really, really love this bag. It's very big and it really should be used as a travel makeup bag but I use it for my technology bag and my other little things that would get lost if I just threw them in the bag. Inside I keep my laptop charger, a lightning cable, my crappy Apple headphones (they are so bad I need to replace the ones that broke ;-; ) a mini USB cable, a power adapter, a micro SD adapter, an SD card, a USB flash drive, Japanese berry hand cream, gum, an Energy Shot and some Advil. I always keep more cords than I use because maybe I'll run into someone that will need it and I find no greater pleasure than being able to help people with their technology needs!

So that's what's in my bag Summer Work Edition! Maybe I'll do a more every day What's In My Bag Summer Edition but maybe I'll schedule that for more towards the end of the summer. I hope you enjoyed! Here is my Workbag from 2014 and What's in my Bag 2013!
